Name Change… “Editor for Chrome”

The new name for “Chrome Editor” is now “Editor for Chrome”.

I had to change it or Google was threatening to take down my app due to the fact that Chrome wasn’t used properly in the name of my app.

It’s okay I get it I hope that customers are not confused by the name change.

Other than the name change I’m not sure what else Google might make me change at the moment to stay in compliance with their branding.

What do you think about the new name?

Have a suggestion for a better name write it below.

Chrome Editor 3.0.2 fix

I broke the install button on my web store page in version 3.0.1 with supporting 6 languages.

After finding issues with language support I have rolled back the 6 localized languages for the time being until the store goes international. I believe this fixed the aw snap install error. So please try installing Chrome Editor again from the web store.

I’ve sorry I cannot currently support international languages until google rolls out the international version of the web store later this year.

I try to be on the cutting edge with my Google Web Store apps so that I can gain better credibility and developer points.

Apparently their are not really any web store apps in localized builds so I think mine was the first. The only problem with being the first is that my app was not working. I did write a post on the Chromium Apps group on google looking for an answer.

So try out Chrome Editor 3.0.2 today and in the future Chrome Editor will support localized builds.

Chrome Editor 3.0

New Locales in Chrome Editor 3.0 which means if you have your Chrome browser setup with Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, or Japanese. Chrome Editor should render nicely in your default language.

The new menu bar should visually break up the page so that while your coding in the bottom half of the screen it should be easier to not get distracted by the top blue bar.

I have to admit I wasn’t sure if Chrome Editor would ever be able to support Syntax Highlighting in an offline web app that is written purely in JavaScript in HTML, but it is possible.

Yes, it does work. It will make coding easier but it’s an easier interface for typing in your code with a color coded syntax output.

No you cannot Whizzywig edit from this view, you also cannot save currently. (You might be able to in the future.)

Simply you click on the color coded icon and you will see a new lined box appear press any key like a space or ctrl, you should then see the text appear to be colored with Syntax Highlighting.
